This course is significant in that it incorporates the concept of patient data, which is an important component of the healthcare system. Patient data provides information about research, diagnosis, and treatment decisions, as well as enables patients to take control of their health outside their doctor’s office.
Patient-driven data can also be relevant and useful to patients in regard to finding credible information online, understanding symptoms, and getting a diagnosis, and this course focuses on these key points.
Some of the additional key concepts discussed in the course include how to evaluate the accuracy of online information, how to read academic papers and research studies, the difference between Shared Patient Information and clinical trials data, and steps that can be taken to avoid getting an inaccurate diagnosis. Through this course, individuals and patients will learn these concepts through short videos, full transcripts of video content, key points in PDF, and self assessment quizzes.
By taking the “Patient-Driven Data & Diagnosis: The New Trailblazers in Health Research” course, individuals and patients can become more knowledgeable and empowered about navigating the healthcare system and can improve the quality of their lives.
